Lukas gave her a somewhat skeptical look. "Well," he said, pondering that. "I'm going to think of something very tactful. How does a movie on pay-per-view sound? I'll buy popcorn out of the vending machine."

Lukas thought for a moment. "Hmm." he said, meeting her glance. "There was this time when my football team was on the way to this big tourney in Berlin, and we had to drive. We weren't allowed to bring music, books, anything. My coach said he wanted us to 'focus on the game'. It was so boring...we just sat there, and tried to carry on hushed conversations without the coach cracking down on us."

Lukas thought. "All right...I dare you to ask the waiter how much you'd have to pay him to buy that potted plant over there." he pointed. "Act like you really want it. The one that looks like it weighs about three tons, I mean." He grinned.
