Here are a few things that just make posts more attactive overall:
Good dialogue. Don't just say "Yeah." For example: ("Mm hmm." Kendall nodded, frowning thoughtfully.) is a lot more interesting than. ("Yes." said Kendall.)
Proper punctuation: Put apostrophes in the proper places! In contractions- "Do not" becomes "Don't"... "Have not" becomes "Haven't" Other commonly misused places for apostrophes include the word "Its" meaning "belonging to it." The contraction "It's" is an abbreviation of the words "It is" or "It has" and is not used to show possession!
When possession is needed, however, the apostrophe comes into play. (For Example: "Kendall's blue backpack" NOT "Kendalls blue backpack". Apostrophes are not needed in plural words, like "toys, books, and papers" (you would not say "Toy's, book's, and paper's")
Proper capitalization: When you are using dialogue, it is proper to NOT capitalize the verb following the quotation. For example: ("Here," said Kendall, holding out a hand. "Give it to me.")
That's all for now..but if you have any questions, let me know. If I don't know the answer, I can always ask my composition professor.

Also, from NOW ON, please consider the following to be one of the very few rules I'm going to implement. Double posting, triple post, back to back post of any kind, is considered a NO! Our ranking here is based on how many posts people have made...if you take up four posts to say something that could have been said in one, that will be considered SPAMMING, and there will be repercussions. Also, please keep all "chat" posts to the OOC boards, which I've made for that precise purpose. Thanks y'all, and have fun!

More info on punctuation: commas and periods. A comma is used when you want to put a pause in the middle of a sentence. It is followed by a space. Ex: "There were a few times, every now and then, when the clouds seemed close enough to touch." A period is also followed by a space, but it marks the end of a sentence. If you have one sentence followed by another sentence, you put a space in between the two sentences. Also, quotation marks! Quotation marks are used when your character's talking. Put them around dialogue like this: "If you want to," she said, "we could go to the lake." Note that when you're finishing a single sentence, but separating it by a verb like 'she said' you do not capitalize the first word of the rest of the sentence. One more thing, and that's the difference between "your" and "You're." The first is possessive. It means "belonging to you." The word "you're" on the other hand, is a contraction. It's the shortened form of "you are" and is used in place of those words. Ex: "We could go to your house." NOT "We could go to you're house." Ex 2: "I think you're really good at that." NOT "I think your really good at that." We now return you to your regularly scheduled programing.
