It's that time of the year, when all the girls feel compelled to purchase a beautiful new dress they know they might wear once again their entire lives, when boys and girls alike are stressing out over who they're going to take to the prom, and tonight's the night, ladies and gentlemen! Seniors will remember it forever or try to forget it, and everyone is sure to have a memorable time in one form or fashion! |

Tesla straightened his tie. This was a bit embarrassing. He was here without a date in this ridiculous tuxedo. He sighed, glancing around at the decorations. They were quite well done, but he didn't really care all that much. He had to decide between now and a month from the next day whether or not he was staying here for all of the next school year, or if he was going back to Serbia after the first semester. He honestly didn't know...Mihajlo was here, and they were best friends, but he wasn't going to stay for just that...He hadn't had the best grades this last semester. If he tried, he could bring them up, but he was still debating whether he wanted to, or whether he wanted to go back to Belgrade, back to the familiar. Tonight was supposed to be a distraction. It didn't appear to be working too well.

Lacy was new to Bowie and had not had time to get to know any one enough to ask him out. So she just sat on the bleachers in her beautiful blue dress waiting for someone to ask her to dance. When no one came she was tempted to just leave but she just kept smiling at any cute boys that past by her looking available. She saw the food table and had a huge craving but she would not eat because she knew what would happen. She would not be embarrassed again at another school. "This is not going well" she muttered to her self under her breath.

Tesla took a sip of his sparkling grape juice. The evening was looking to be a long one, if things didn't shape up, and he was half inclined to just leave. But that would be horribly embarrassing, to come home from prom at ten o'clock. No, that wouldn't do at all. He glanced around, lifting his glass to his lips again, then spotted someone sitting alone in the bleachers. Hmm. Perhaps she was in the same predicament he was. He made his way back to the drink table, got another glass of grape juice, and climbed the bleachers to stand in front of Lacy.
"Hi." he said. It wasn't the most eloquent line he'd ever used, but perhaps it would do the trick. "I couldn't help noticing that you look somewhat...alone...up here, so I thought I might bring a drink up. Mind if I join you?"

Gavin yawned. This was so boring. If there were anyone here who looked remotely interested in being here, that would be nice. Well, anyone who wasn't already spoken for. Gavin had been having horrible luck with girls since he moved from California. He thought to himself that it would be rather nice if he could go back, but that wasn't a real choice, not yet, anyhow. He sighed, and ate a grape off of the fruit table. This sucked beyond belief. His senior prom, and he had no date, nobody to hang out with. Rotten luck, very lousy. He sat down on the edge of the bleachers, and glanced around.

Lacy looked up at the boy who offered her a drink. She smiled "I guess you can join me, but dont expect to have any fun up here" She took the grape juice even though she hated that flavor. She took a sip and pretended to like it. Lacy hoped he would not notice. "so your here without a date too?" Lacy asked wonderingly. If he said no she was likely to ask him to dance.

Tesla shook his head. "Haven't got one. I just moved here at the beginning of the semester, and I'm still trying to decide if I like it or not..." He shrugged. "Truth is, I think I might have moved here just because my best friend's here..."

Tesla gave her a quick grin, and shrugged. "Absolutely." he said, standing up. He set his glass down on the bleachers and offered her a hand.
